The Eyes Are the Window to the Soul
The Eyes Are the Window to the Soul
Water, Time, the Eternal River, and the Battle for the Original Code
The old proverb declares that the eyes are the window to the soul. Jesus confirms it with piercing clarity:
"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!"
— Matthew 6:22-23 (KJV)
We are vessels of water.
The eyes are composed largely of water. The brain is approximately 73% water. The human body itself is over 70% water. This is no accident. The first element specifically mentioned in Scripture is water, and upon it the Spirit of God moved at the dawn of creation.
"And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
— Genesis 1:2 (KJV)
Before mountains, nations, kings, and civilizations, there were waters—and the Spirit moved upon them.
The Timeless River: Water in All Forms at Once
Consider a river.
It flows from a mountain spring to a stream, from a stream to a mighty river, and finally into the sea. Yet at that same moment, portions of that water are evaporating into the sky, forming clouds, falling as rain upon distant lands, soaking into the earth, and beginning the journey again.
Past, present, and future exist within one continuous cycle.
Water has no fixed shape. It bends, reflects, refracts, carries memory, and conforms to whatever contains it. It exists simultaneously in the sky, in the ground, in the oceans, and within our bodies.
There is something profoundly mysterious about this element that God chose as the stage upon which His Spirit first moved.
The spoken Word of God was introduced into creation through a world covered in waters. His voice, His command, His creative authority became the original imprint upon the deep.
That original code—the breath of life itself—still echoes through the waters that compose our bodies.
The Rewriting of Time
If water carries memory and participates in every stage of existence simultaneously, then the battle for water becomes a battle for time itself.
Moses, whose name means "drawn out of the water," repeatedly interacted with water in miraculous ways. Through God's power he parted seas, brought water from rock, and recorded events long before his own birth.
The Spirit moved him through the river of God's revelation.
Today, however, another force has emerged.
Across the earth, massive data centers hum day and night. They consume extraordinary amounts of energy, require vast cooling systems, and increasingly mediate nearly every aspect of human communication and perception.
Many view them simply as storage facilities for information.
But perhaps something deeper is occurring.
Humanity now spends countless hours receiving streams of images, sounds, messages, and digital impressions. The eyes absorb these streams continually, and through the eyes those impressions enter the inner waters of our being.
The battle is no longer merely over information.
The battle is over imprinting.
The serpent's first strategy was not direct destruction—it was the corruption of God's Word.
"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die."
— Genesis 3:4 (KJV)
A counterfeit message was introduced into the original code.
Today, the flood of images, distractions, and artificial narratives seeks to do the same thing.
Jesus warned:
"And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."
— Matthew 24:22 (KJV)
The enemy has always sought to compress time, accelerate corruption, and rob humanity of an eternal perspective.
God sees a thousand years as a day.
"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
— 2 Peter 3:8 (KJV)
The adversary seeks the opposite: to collapse eternity into frantic moments of distraction, fear, and decay.
The Return of the Adversary and the Removal of Living Water
Scripture reveals a coming conflict unlike any the world has ever known.
When Satan is cast down in the final days, there will be an intensified assault upon everything connected to life, truth, and the Spirit of God.
The Holy Spirit cannot fellowship with unrestrained rebellion. As darkness increases, many will discover that what remains within them is only what they have allowed to be written upon the waters of their hearts.
Those whose inner waters have been continually saturated with deception may find themselves without an anchor.
The final rebellion leads toward dryness.
Toward thirst.
Toward separation from the Source.
The rich man in hell understood this reality.
"And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame."
— Luke 16:24 (KJV)
The ultimate judgment is not merely external fire.
It is internal drought.
A condition where living water is absent.
Yet for those who carry the memory of God's Spirit within, there remains hope.
There remains a river.
There remains a source that cannot be corrupted by the systems of this world.
Everything Is Water — The Battle Is for Time Itself
Creation continually testifies to a profound truth:
Everything returns to water.
God's words are hidden within the architecture of creation. His fingerprints remain visible in the cycles of rivers, clouds, rain, seas, and the waters flowing through every living creature.
The modern explosion of data may appear to be about information.
But beneath the surface lies a struggle for attention, perception, memory, and ultimately time itself.
The enemy seeks to fold time inward, compress awareness, accelerate decay, and create a spiritual collapse within the human soul.
Yet there is a river that cannot be dammed.
Jesus identified Himself as the true source.
"He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."
— John 7:38 (KJV)
And John saw its eternal fulfillment:
"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb."
— Revelation 22:1 (KJV)
The waters will be restored.
The River of Life still flows.
The mist and glory of God's presence will return.
Time itself will be redeemed for those whose eyes remain single, whose hearts remain fixed upon Christ, and whose inner waters continue to be moved upon by the Holy Spirit.
Guard the Windows of Your Soul
Guard what enters through your eyes.
Renew the waters within daily through the pure Word of God.
Allow the original code spoken in the beginning to override every counterfeit imprint seeking to claim your attention.
The river still flows.
The choice remains before each of us:
Will we be shaped by the Spirit that first moved upon the waters?
Or will we allow ourselves to be rewritten by the currents of this present darkness?
What code are your eyes allowing into the waters of your being today?
The Eternal River awaits those who will drink.
