Nice Guys, Prophecy, and Other Dangerous Things

I could write about the current events.
I could write about WAR with IRAN and the headlines flashing across the screen like a late-night infomercial for fear.

I could remind you that I said a major leader would die in February — and he did. I said that last year. I wrote it down. Ink dries slower than opinions, but it lasts longer.

I could write about the things that will unfold in March — things that will make February look like child’s play at recess. But sometimes wisdom isn’t shouting from the rooftop; sometimes it’s sitting on the porch with sweet tea, watching folks panic over weather they prayed for.

Instead, let me say this.

Why Do Nice Guys Finish Last?

Because they always let their women come first.

Now before someone throws a shoe at the screen — breathe. I’m smiling.

But let’s talk about it.

The world says, “Nice guys finish last.”
The Kingdom says something very different.

“But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” — Matthew 19:30 (KJV)

So if a man is last because he put his wife first…
He might just be first in Heaven’s accounting system.

That “nice guy” who opens the door, who prays before he speaks, who thinks about the mortgage before the motorcycle — he’s not weak. He’s measured. He’s building something you don’t see yet.

He may not flex on Instagram.
He flexes patience.

He may not have a favorite color.
He’s waiting to see what color your curtains will be.

He’s not slow.
He’s steady.

And steady wins more than races — it builds legacies.

The Real Question

The real question isn’t why nice guys finish last.

The real question is:
What race are you running?

If you’re racing for applause, yes — the loudest wins.
If you’re racing for ego, yes — the boldest wins.
If you’re racing for attention, yes — the flashiest wins.

But if you’re building a covenant?

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” — Ephesians 5:25 (KJV)

Notice it doesn’t say, “Husbands, dominate your wives.”
It says, “gave himself.”

That sounds suspiciously like letting someone else come first.

A Little Humor (But Not Really)

Men who let their women come first aren’t finishing last.

They’re finishing fulfilled.

And women — if you find a man who:

  • thinks before he reacts,

  • builds before he boasts,

  • prays before he posts,

…you might want to hold onto him.

Because while the world is predicting wars and rumors of wars
(“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars…” — Matthew 24:6 KJV),

the quiet man in the corner might be building an ark.

And arks don’t look impressive… until it starts raining.

So choose wisely.

You will thank me.

Because in a world racing to be first,
the man willing to be last for you
may be the only one prepared for what’s coming next.
