Reprobate Minds and a World Turned Upside Down
It’s like each day tries to outdo the next in evil, madness, and deception. We scroll the headlines, and it’s as if chaos itself is competing for a prize. Murderers celebrated. Truth censored. Children led into confusion. Leaders bow to lies, and the masses applaud. And we wonder—how can this be?
The answer is both chilling and clear.
God gave them over to a reprobate mind.
This phrase isn’t just poetic or theological—it's prophetic. And it's being fulfilled before our very eyes.
Let’s look at the foundation of this truth, laid out in the first chapter of Paul’s letter to the Romans. In Romans 1, Paul introduces himself not as a celebrity, not as a philosopher, but as a servant of Jesus Christ—a man completely transformed. Once a persecutor, Paul was separated unto the Gospel of God (Romans 1:1). He didn’t find God; God apprehended him.
And what was Paul’s message? The Gospel. The fulfillment of a promise from ancient times:
“Which He had promised before by His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made of the seed of David according to the flesh…” (Romans 1:2–3, KJV)
He reminds us that God’s plan has always been unfolding—from Abraham, to David, to Christ the final King. And now that message has gone out to all nations, a call to repentance and faith.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation…” (Romans 1:16)
But not everyone receives it. Some reject the truth altogether, not due to ignorance, but willful rebellion.
The Fall into Reprobation
“Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.” (Romans 1:19)
God is not hiding. His fingerprints are on creation. The stars, the oceans, our very breath testify to His power. But what did humanity do?
They “became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” (v. 21)
They professed to be wise—we call them experts today. Scientists who mock God while manipulating DNA. Leaders who redefine marriage and gender. Celebrities who idolize themselves. Schools that teach children to worship the planet but deny the Creator.
“And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man…” (v. 23)
We’ve gone from worshiping the Holy One to worshiping man, animals, and “Mother Earth.”
And the result?
“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts…” (Romans 1:24)
This isn’t just punishment—it’s abandonment.
Current News: Fruit of a Reprobate Mind
Just this week…
-
A UN panel recommended decriminalizing pedophilia under the name of “consensual youth-adult relationships.”
-
Men dressed as women performed provocatively in front of children at a “Pride” event in Seattle—with police defending the act, not the protesters.
-
Artificial intelligence is now being trained to rewrite Scripture to make it “inclusive”—eliminating references to sin, hell, and judgment.
-
Trans activists are pushing for surgeries on minors without parental consent in multiple U.S. states.
-
World leaders sit in global summits talking of peace while preparing for war—and most don’t even mention God.
Paul’s words are living truth:
“Even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind…” (Romans 1:28)
We’re watching it unfold in real time. People no longer just sin—they celebrate it. And worse:
“…they not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” (Romans 1:32)
This explains why society defends depravity but cancels truth.
What Can the Righteous Do?
-
Do not be ashamed of the Gospel.
“The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)
Now is not the time to hide your light. -
Pray without ceasing.
Paul prayed for the saints in Rome "without ceasing" (v. 9). So must we—for our families, our cities, and our enemies. -
Recognize the signs.
The rise of the reprobate mind is one of the clearest signs that we are in the last days.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come…” (2 Timothy 3:1) -
Come out from among them.
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers… come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord…” (2 Corinthians 6:14–17)
Final Word
We are living in a Romans 1 world. But we were not appointed to wrath. We were chosen for such a time as this.
Let the wicked do what they will. Let the world chase its lusts. As for us?
“We will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
Let us preach the Gospel with boldness, walk in holiness, and warn those who still have ears to hear—before God turns them over completely.
The time is short.
The battle is real.
And the King is coming.
